Too many choices, not enough money, and all those damn adverts on the TV, plus those idiot presenters with more money than sence saying 'this is really cheap at 0, get one while you can' yeah, right.

The less I have the less I can spend. That's how mine is. But when I shop now it takes me a long long time to decide on things. And half the time I return a few times before I'm completely satisfied. I drive myself crazy half the time. Is this part of aging or am I completely losing my mind. Remembering when I was young (a few years ago) :) it didn't seem as hard to make choices as it is now.

Is anyone else like me? as regards money? the more I have, the less I want to spend it, for a year now, I have been thinking of replacing the electic fryer I burnt out [ forgot it while on the net!] Christmas eve, walking past a charity shop, a brand new one person fryer in the window for 4 quid, Hmmm, I'll think about it, finaly got the nerve to buy it last friday, yep, brand new, all items still in the factory wrapping,, took me a year to buy a fryer, anyone beat that?

That's just part of my name it doesn't include my long last name. I never had a daughter but I wish I had at times. I had two sons and there 16 years apart. One is 22 and the other 38. I know what you mean, my Mom at times nitpicks. Your hairs to short, your hairs to long, your hair should be blonder, whatever....Well it's cold here in Pennsylvania but we've been lucky so far. Haven't had much snow but I better shut my mouth. Went out and found a discount on a very nice purse. It took me months to find one I like. The designer bags appeal to me but the cost of them doesn't. I tried to tell myself well it's a good bag and it's worth it but it isn't in my eyes anyway. I did get a good bag though after all the discounts I didn't pay that much. I like the long straps on the small purse organizers that way I don't have to worry about the purse falling off my arm and it goes around my head and shoulder. Oh well enough of that I have to go back to school tomorrow so I have to start memorizing my medical terms, my mind isn't what it used to be but I'm doing better in remembering things. So far straight A's and that's the way I would like to keep it.

Hello Everyone, and welcome to Joni josi coyote - what a fabulous name! You should be a writer or something with that name. Happy New Year to you all. Thank goodness the celebrations are over, I say. I had a good Christmas at my daughter's house, but she was laid up with flu so I had to cook the Christmas dinner. I didn't mind really, because it made me feel less as if I was imposing. Delicate balances, these mother-daughter relationships, aren't they? I used to hate having my mother come over to stay as she was so critical of everything, so now I wonder how my own kids REALLY think about me. I have made it a point never to interfere or criticise any of them though.
I spent New Year in Blackpool (a seaside resort about 40 miles from here) with three friends. This is the third New Year we have spent there at the same hotel. We have decided to stay somewhere else next year as it's getting to be the same old routine, although we had a great time, and plenty of laughs.
Did you all have good Christmas presents? I had useful things this year -a clock, a photo frame, some books, slippers, smellies etc.
It has been very cold here lately (Don't laugh, Faye, sitting in your sunshine!). It was actually snowing this morning, but luckily it didn't stick. What is the weather like in Pennsylvania, Joni? Winter there too, I think, isn't it?
My main New Year resolution is to concentrate on my writing. I have two novels on the go that I started ages ago and I am going to fish them out and complete them this year, no matter what. I'm also going to keep up to date with everything. That is my weakness - I am always playing catch-up with my correspondence etc.
Well, that's all from me today. Take care.
Love, Elizabeth x x

I'm actually on disability. I have problems with arthritis in feet and cervical neck area. I am going to school for medical administration because I would love to try and work in a hospital. I just can't think of sitting home the rest of my life but sometimes I have a hard time getting around on my feet and then my neck gives me problems at times. I see a chiropractor once a week which has helped immensely. While I was training for Personal Fitness Trainer I pinched a nerve again and was in pain for months. I just have to be careful with it. It runs from my neck down my arm to my wrist. Then I have the carpal tunnel in the left wrist. But it could be worse. After school ends around the 1st of June I'll have to decide if taking a job will be worth it to me over the disability. I'm actually scared that I won't be able to function well enough. Oh well, that's the size of that.
Anyway, enough of me, your country sounds interesting with it's celebrations. What type of concert is it. Certain bands or what? It sounds so different than here. Here everything is to wild and crazy for me. Everythings to loud when you go out these days. It's quieting down now that the holidays are over though. Thanks.

Joni josi coyote welcome to our thread. We have been going for a long time although have had a few drop outs. It is lovely to meet you and i hope you have a wonderful New Year.As you can see I am from New Zealand which is the first place to see the sun on a new day. A beautiful place but then I am probably biased about that as I have never left the country so I can compare it to anywhere else. Are you retired, still working or working part time. On here we talk about anything. We share our thoughts on many thing, support people with problems, celebrate good news...well anything in life really. It is, as always, nice to see someone else come into our little group. I just hope a lot of you all will return soon.
My New Year celebrations were very quiet which is the way I like it. We have a 9 days canival here every year and I hope to get down for one of the concerts at some stage before it all ends. Once all finished the rides close down until FEB.6th when we have Waitangi Day which is to celebrate the singing of the treaty of Waitangi between the maoris and the english when New Zealand become a britsish soveriegnty. On that day the carnival rides re-open for the day. After that they are shut down for the season.
Well, no books today as I just wanted to do a welcome to Joni josi coyote and wish her, and everyone else who comes here to have a look, a good New Year

Hi, I'm new to this site. Happy New Year to everyone. I just cut my hair real short so I have to update the pic. My heads always to cold now though. I'm trying to save money everywhere I can so when I go for a haircut I think well let's see, I guess I should get it short short so I don't have to come back in 2 weeks. When you get older you think to much where it drives you nuts. When I go shopping for clothes unless I get a real deal I'll take it back. I just can't stand spending the money. Picking stuff out is like a real job now. Decisions are really tough. Finding my car when I'm come out of the store is a job. Oh well anyway just introducing my lost self on here so Hi.

Well I have finally got back to here. I seem to have had very little time of late. HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone who reads this thread especially to those who have been sticking with it.I know it can get a little boring sometimes but any thread is only what we make it. Where are the people who were up in arms the same as me cause there didnt seem to be many over 50 in the site? We know there are quite a few but they all seem to have gone down the gurgler. Wouldnt it be great if we could put pics on here? And maybe give the site a little bit of modernization? I think it has been much the same ever since I got here and I think that may have been over a year ago now. Are there any Admins here? I for one don't even know who looks after this site. Wow Im full of questions tonight. Any answers from anyone gratefully received. When we began this thread we went with a hiss and a bang into it because most of the threads involved young people who really werent terribly interested in an adult conversation unless it was about sex, dating, boy/girlfriend realtionships and such like. Okay so now where is everyone. Okay had my moan for 2009. Everyone take care and please comeback...xx

Hi Faye and everyone. Just a mad panic last-minute message to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. You may be glad (or not!) to hear that one of my New Year Resolutions is to keep up to date on everything, so hopefully I will be more hands-on in this group and not answering once in a while as I have been doing.
