Hi Steven I just joined and have also been reading the threads. got exactly the same thought, seems to be a lot of people but not much action, wondering now if I've made a mistake???

Typically you're asked for full name so that a site can personalize the page or to use to personalize junk mail. So I customarily type in a C instead of Cindy; it does run the risk of being forever known as a nondescript letter but it's just a habit now.
